The dreaded morning-after feeling could be a thing of the past after scientists in South Korea came up with a technique that allows drinkers to avoid a hangover, Sky News reported Thursday. 150 Scuba Diving Santas brave cold waters for charity

More than 150 scuba divers dressed in full Santa Clause outfits braved the cold waters near Great Britain last weekend to set a world record and raise money for charity.

New Record and Bronze Medal for Jana Strain at the World Freediving Championships

(DW) Long Island, Bahamas - In the final heat for constant no fins at the AIDA World Championships, Jana Strain set another Pan American record and claimed a bronze medal with a strong dive to 54M (177 feet), completed in two minutes and thirteen seconds. She broke her own existing Record of 53 meters (174 feet) set in September 7, 2009.

New Australian wreck opens to scuba divers

(Australian Broadcasting Company) - The ex-HMAS Canberra has been given the all clear and will open to scuba divers in waters nearly four kilometres off Ocean Grove this weekend.

Parks Victoria has given the ship a final safety inspection and it opened to divers last Saturday.

Singer Katie Melua is recovering after she nearly drowned during a scuba diving session in London last weekend (November 28-29).

Robert King sets US freediving record diving to 275 feet during event in the Bahamas

The United States Apnea Association (USAA) is pleased to announce that Robert King, a USAA member, set a new national record for swimming to depth with a fin while holding his breath to a depth of 84 meters (275 feet) on December 1, 2009 at Dean?s Blue Hole on Long Island in the Bahamas during the AIDA Individual Depth Freediving World Championship.

Divers find preserved sunken stern-wheeler

The following is from the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner by Dermot Cole:

A perfectly preserved stern-wheeler has been discovered on the bottom of Lake Laberge, about 30 miles north of Whitehorse.

The 108-foot A.J. Goddard sank on Oct. 22, 1901 in about 40 feet of water. Two crewmen survived and three drowned.

Lionfish Spotted in Bonaire Waters

The following was reported by Susan Davis of the Bonaire Insider:

Tuesday, two recreational divers found a juvenile lionfish at the northern dive site, Nukove.  As requested by STINAPA, they mapped the location and shot confirming video, and then reported the sighting to the Bonaire National Marine Park.
